MarkL
Hi, Just wondering what peoples opinions are on the best type for rear window. I have a 2003 TD5 110 Crewcab with rear wiper and window brake light. I've found two types: From Paddocks http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/NEW_PRODUC...les_-_pair.html http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/NEW_PRODUC...MY_onwards.html And from Simmonites (which seem to be the standard type) http://www.simmonites.com/Defender%20exterior.htm (near the end of the page) Any thoughts? Cheers Mark
mike4444244
I'd go for internal, you might have trouble with your wiper clearing the grille, do you want it to stop people getting in, luggage getting out or trees getting in? Mike
51bigG
Those grills are intended for internal use, previous owner had them fitted to my td5. Someone must do them in stainless cos mine are stainless, they are ok security wise but they dont give the best vision from a drivers point of view, but I tend to drive more using the door mirrors. I dont have the luxury of wiper or the brake light sso no cut outs in the grills for that.
smo
I had mantec ones on my 110 a while back, they were like the simmonites ones and i fitted them internally, much better than external as you cant get hold to rip them off. I fitted them with security bolts, penny washers and twin nylocks to make sure there was no way of removing them from outside, even if they did take the glass out it was impossible to get in.
