Bobajob
My '94 RRC Vogue is acting a bit odd, the speedo and rev counter are very erratic, sometimes for no apparent reason the speedo will drop to zero and then flick back to read a realistic speed, the rev counter does the same or sometimes just doesnt bother. I thought at first it was a sign of a low battery charge but I have replaced the battery and it is fully charged - any ideas? its a last of the old shape "classic" with a hard dash and coils
steve_d
I would start by pulling and refitting any fuses that relate to those functions as it may be a poor connection there. Next I would be looking for a bad connection or even a broken track in the back of the dash. The back of the dash has a flexible printed circuit which can suffer from cracks due to vibration. Check also any soldered connections to the flexi as you can also get a dry joint. Steve
SteveRK
As above & if this doesn't work then treat the faults as separate. Mine developed an erratic speed and was traced to the cable where it is attached to the back of the gearbox (manual transmission) Everything appeared in order and it took two re-fitting attempts before it worked consistently. For the rev counter this is fed from the ignition coil so check the wiring from the coil back up to the dash.
