Aragorn
I'm looking at ordering up some new mounts for my rebuild and i've stumbled across an oddity As far as i know, the TD5 and 300TDi transfer box sits in identical place on the same mounts and uses the same propshaft. I'm using a 300TDi transfer box and gearbox, but a later TD5 chassis with the integrated mounts and ive noticed there are two different part numbers for the rubber mountings http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listi...bber&page=1 and http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listi...bber&page=1 Now clearly they look very similar, just the TD5 item has one of the shoulders missing on the metal base, but the 300TDi ones are a LOT cheaper, so if i could use those it would be great. What i'm wondering is will that extra shoulder cause a problem? Which end does that sit against? the chassis or the transfer box? Thanks
pete3000
From memory on my 300 tdi the silver side sits on the gearbox crossmember, and only locates on one edge (with the threaded portion). The black rubber side with the threaded peg goes into the gearbox. The mounts are handed though, the rubber on britpart ones on mine failed after 18 months- 2years. The bearmach ones look a much better job. Pete
