mabbs Posted April 13, 2009 Share Posted April 13, 2009 Hello My 92 3.9 v8 R/R has partially lost its PAS. When turning initially there is no assistance, yet when movement has been initiated on the wheel there is some assistance, albeit very jerky. I am have replaced and tighten the PAS drivebelt, to no avail (although when I had this problem in the past it was a slipping belt). Is this likely to be the pump or the belt? Bowie69 Posted April 13, 2009 Share Posted April 13, 2009 More likely a low fluid level allowing air into the system -you don't mention you have checked this... Top it up and with the wheels jacked off the ground turn from lock to lock a few times to get the air out the system, then re-try it under load.
