FKD
The diameter of the part that i need to out the bearing on is 139mm. I doubt i will get a bearing with this diameter though! I think i will have to look at a bush/sleeve to take it up to 145 or 150mm Will make a call after bank holiday and see whats out out there but go much bigger and even budget stuff will be mega bucks, can you not turn the part down and sleeve to 140mm? Another thought will check the sizes of speedy sleeves and see if we can jack the shaft size to 140mm... Shame I'm in Yorkshire, we could have probably worked something out... Cheers FKD. chrism
Its a very difficult one to do i think, I cant do it in my lathe anyway. I will have another look and perhaps take it to a local place to see whether they could stick it in their lathe and take some off for me. That would be idealies Just had a look at those speedy sleeves, but they arent quite thick enough! The lump is american hence imperial so i will have another measure but im wondering whether there is an imperial bearing to suit? I take it you work in the line of bearings then FKD as you seem very knowledgable and helpful? Thanks Chris
FKD
No super heros here, just a simple old school engineer, who still thinks CNC and CAD are 80's pop groups... Or thinking about it should that be old and simple
