Troll Hunter
I'm not into serious offroading, and I don't know where this clip came from, but is this a normal procedure? how_to_inflate_a_tyre.wmv
Les Henson
Ice drivers use this method a lot. Les.
Lars L
Iceland drivers I would say. They drive on the snowy glaciers with exteremely low pressures in big tyres in order to obtain the necessary flotation.
LandyManLuke
Have used this method to seat a tyre after changing it in a muddy field, using tyre levers etc. It's far easier to take it to a garage if you can.
Les Henson
I typed Ice, because other places on the planet have snow/ice/glaciers, etc, and this is a common method for popping a tyre back on the bead. Desert drivers use the same method I think. Les.

Les. Yep, I saw the same thing when I was desert bashing in Dubai, though I don't think it works quite so spectacularly as the air temp is higher to start with therefore the expansion cannot be as fast or as large? streaky
It's best done with the large flexible wall ballon tyres...like the Micky Thompsons etc...I tried this method on a quad bikers tyre during the DC once when we couldn't get it back on the rim and succeded in setting the tire alight. Yes it works...as you can see by the video..... but I didn't feel comfortable doing it.
landmannnn
I've done it a few times. A much safer way is use a ratchet strap around the circumference of the tyre, saves the singed eyebrows!
Steve Hiatt
I couldn't get my new quad tyres to seal as they were an inch narrower than the originals. I used Easy Start which was effective and entertaining B)
