smoking 300 tdi

sting

Recommended Posts

having problems with a 94 300 tdi, lumpy when starting up from cold and wont rev, plumes out like unburnt diesel smoke.once engine is warmer it idles better but will not rev properly until all smoke has cleared, having to hold revs on for a while for this to do so.have had injectors checked ,timing belt replaced and accurately aligned, egr blanked off, tried another inj pump, cleaned intercooler, loosened off down pipe for exhaust blockage along with new fuel filter and lift pump and sedimenter done.even direct fuel feed from container to pump to rule out air in fuel.tappets are ok and not too tight, havent got a compression tester yet but wondering if turbo ok.waistgate seems to move ok but dont know if it is stuck shut ,or any thing on this area, dont think its anything internal in engine but would appreciate any feedback.proper doing head in
