Briarston
I have replaced the nylon top hat bushes in the lever pivot (it didn't have any left) and adjusted the pivot post slightly. The lever now throws over the arm on the trans. box with a definite "click". However, if I jack up a wheel I can still turn it, and the prop. shaft rotates, so diff. is not locked. I have turned the wheel a number of times as diff. locks sometimes need to align themselves before locking. The trans. box is that fitted with the 2.5TD engine. Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Is there something broken inside? Any advice welcome. Thanks in advance.
western
the centre diff is only fully engaged when the warning light is on, maybe the switch is adjusted to far in & preventing full engagement.
Aragorn
I have a vague recollection of somthing relating to the difflock warning light switch stopping the diff lock engaging if its adjusted wrongly... Does the manual mention anything about that? heh we posted that at the same time, seems my memory wasnt playing tricks!

Thanks to all for the quick response! Had to remove switch to solder on a new terminal (wondered what the spare wire hanging down was for!). Diff. lock lock still didn't engage. Found that more adjustment was needed. Looks like the g/box has been out at sometime, and linkage hadn't been set up afterwards. With your help it now works as it should - just got to find where I tucked the "spare" wire! Thanks again
western
one wire to the difflock switch is a earth attached to the raised hosing above the front prop connection, the other is the live 12v feed & comes off the chassis loom below the drivers footwell.
