C18RCH
I have an early 110 to which I fitted a 200TDi. The problem is that it starts to lose power at higher speeds. There is just nothing left at above 40mph. My initial thoughts on this are it is either poor fuel flow, turbo problems (although the turbo seems to be fine at lower speeds) or back pressure from the exhaust. Has anyone experienced this/have any suggestions? Cheers

scube
My first thought would be a faulty lift pump. Or maybe the fuel filter could do with replaceing, also check the condition of the air filter.
jason110
when was last time it was serviced properly? i.e. oil and air filtered changed? is it smoking under accleration? may be worth checking turbo hoses ? is almost certainly the lift pump, if, when engine is off, it feels like its not pumping anything. jase
C18RCH
Thats pretty much confirmed what I was thinking. It has not yet had a 'full service' I have done various bits while doing the engine swap. Will change the fuel filter and have a look at the lift pump and see how it goes. western
replace the fuel/oil & air filters, change the engine oil, & get some injector cleaner/treatment [Millers is a favourite on here] & chuck a good dose in the tank, a new lift pump will help to. also check the throttle cable can move it's full travel & the lever on the injection pump can touch it's forward stop, sometimes the adjuster on the cable backs off.
