Welcome Ali.

Most here live in the UK. So the climate is not exactly making AC a must have. Almost any AC will cope with the temperature here (30 degrees max for a couple of days a year).

I hope some of the guys from South Africa or Australia can help you more.

Hi, can I ask what kind of price range these things are in? Would really like aircon in my IIB, as we are taking it to Portugal on the motorway, and am looking for some sort of aircon system.

regards

Living in a country where A/C is a must I am surprised you can't just take it to any local A/C company and have them make up a system for you.

The only specialist parts would perhaps be the mounting and belt tensioning for the compressor.

Ali,

I live in Barbados and had a 2004 defender double cab with the OEM version you're looking at... it was OK but not great by any stretch and certainly nowhere close to any of the japanese pick-ups... A friend of mine supplemented that OEM set-up with an additional aftermarket kit by one of the US companies like hot rod air.
