foggy3061
I take it that as the 200tdi engine were at one point offered as an upgrade from the 2.5 N/A diesel and 2.5 TD engine, that the wiring loom from either a 2.5 N/A or 2.5 TD can be used or is easily modified to use with a 200TDI? Does anybody know what needs altering, if at all, or if a wiring diagram for the conversion exists? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help. It's a simple plug-in job if going from a TD to a Defender spec 200 Tdi. The only addition is the glow plug timer relay and associated wiring - which again is a plug in. I fitted a 200Tdi to my own 110 about 5 / 6 years ago and everything was a straight bolt-in or plug-in swap. See here for details: Land Rover 200 Tdi re-power instructions Matt

I didn;t bother witht the glow plug timer relay system, i just wired the glow plugs up as the TD was - i don;t need them even on a winter morning, so don;t need the 15 secs of heating i did with the TD. The only other difference is that the engine temp sender unit on the defender 200tdi is at the front near the water pump rather than at the back where it is on the TD - the wire is already hanging there though.
