Water injection in TD5 - anyone done it?

200 hour engine life? Really? :o

I think for the first couple of years we never had an engine that lasted that long. The engines were (and most likely still are) a barsteward to change because of the lack of openings underneath so that a nut or a spanner (and in one case a shoe) would mean that the engine had to come out again. I was night shift in 1969 while helping out 1 sqn at Wittering for an engine change that took two weeks! We eventually became better at not dropping things and tying spanners to ourselves with bits of string.

Here is my description (somewhat tongue-in-cheek but it is all true) of an attempted 'Engine change in the field' carried out in 1970.
