will_warne
Appologies for getting back on topic but here's my veiw on the engines. The 2.8 tgv is a major setup over the 300 with LOADS of torque really low down. It also revs better and is smoother. However, its powerband is smaller than a TD5 and it runs out of puff quite at significantly lower revs. The TD5s I've driven also have nasty throttle response and feel as well as no torque at idle. Quite nice on road, not so pleasant off it. The only downside of the 2.8 is the top end power, 135bhp isn't massive but I'm planning to improve things slightly in the near future. Mmmm propane
