NegevLandRover
For all you people who do not own a ground anchor and get stuck in sand (or if one ground anchor is not enough) you should know that one can improvise very easily - take spare wheel and place/bury it in the sand at a 45 degree angle away from the direction of pull and tie the winch cable to the rim. If you leave a 'tether' on it then can easily pull the wheel out once you get to it. Adam
jwriyadh
Admirable tip, using the spare wheel as a ground anchor. I find it less exhausting in 40+ heat to do a little preparation with the shovel, let the tyres down to 4-5 psi and drive slowly out of the problem. jw
will_warne
Sounds like you're having a good time, Ali. So, can we have a count of the number of Golden arches you've visited with each of your posts, I wonder if anyone else has ever made it to all the McDonalds in Aus in under a year
jules
I am sure McDonalds Marketing boys would love to know people are using them for route planning so travelers can contact home while traveling
