VeryDisco
Off the BBC website: A 61-year-old man has been found dead from head injuries after his Land Rover was stolen, police have said. The man's body was found in Featherbed Lane, Withybrook, near Rugby, Warwickshire, on Saturday morning. It is unclear if the victim had been attacked before his green Land Rover Defender was taken, or whether he was injured trying to thwart the theft. The car was seen a short time later in the carpark of St John the Baptist Church in nearby Wovley. Police appeal On Sunday, Det Ch Insp Sarah Goodhall, of Warwickshire Police, said: "This is a tragic incident in which a member of the public going about his normal business on a Saturday morning has become victim of a callous attack which has resulted in his death. "We want to make the perpetrators aware of the full extent of what they've done." She appealed for anyone with information about the murder to search their consciences and contact police. The man's identity has not yet been released but he is said to have been from the Nuneaton area. Officers also appealed for anyone who has seen the Land Rover, or a silver car which was in the area at the time. Police, ambulance crews and the air ambulance were all called to Featherbed Lane but attempts to resuscitate the man at the scene were unsuccessful.
