snaketorque Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I have installed an MS on a 1991 Range Rover Classic with a 3.9 and seem to have a problem with the fuel pump priming and I have been scratching my head for a couple of days now. I have double, triple, quadruple and quintruple checked the wiring from Phils site at http://www.extraefi.co.uk/ and it all matches and looks good with the wiring diag I have for the RR, however for some reason the fuel pump won't prime. I have changed the settings in the crank priming bit to always on and twice but it still shows priming once and does not kick the relay over. I have swapped the relay out thinking it was a dodgy relay but with no success. Anyone got any ideas? This is on an MS Extra unit with 29y4 on it. Thanks Rob Quote
steve_d Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 What voltage have you on the relay? First you are aware that MS earths the relay rather than power it. At the relay you should have a permanent live to pin 30 Pump connected to pin 87 Ignition switched live to pin 86 MS (on my MS pin 37) connected to pin 85 Sometimes 85 and 86 are swapped over as it does not matter. FridgeFreezer Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 It does depend if the ECU is as supplied by ExtraEFI as they may well invert the fuel pump feed to stick +12v out, not a hard job at build time. Quote
bobtail84 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Mr torque or can I call you snake... I also have an ECU from ExtraEfi with the same firmware as you. Have you wired your's like this diagram? jeff Quote
