ok im trying to get hold of some pins for the leaf springs on a series 3. the springs have been stripped and overhauled but they cant go back together untill i have some new pins <_<

any ideas??

A bit specialised, I'd look under "Springs & Shock Absorbers" in Yellow Pages.

I assume you mean the pins that go through the centre of the spring, not those that go through the eyes, they are standard Landrover parts.

IIRC the proper items are slightly tapered and the head is round to fit in a hole in the bracket welded to the axle.

Either make your own from suitable grade of steel,or failing that, use a high tensile bolt of the correct size and turn down the hexagon head to the required diameter.

From memory an M8 or M10 cap head bolt works pretty well. It's not exactly a fine tolerance application, and the U-bolts should be holding the spring on.

Doh! Cap heads - why did I not think of them? Used to use them all the time in my old job. Perfect solution!
