ewan.m Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I have a Disco TD5, 2003 facelift model. Tried to go out the other day and initially all the dash lights came on but car wouldn't start. Turned ignition on and off a couple of times and this seemed to clear it except for an l.c.d symbol that kept flashing next to the mileometer. ( looked like a B with a / line through it ) Car started and all seemed o.k, until I tried the indicators which didn't work. Things got really weired then .. tried to turn off engine and all dash lights stayed on even when key removed !! Started engine and ran for a short time .. tried to turn off engine and this time it continued to run even with the key removed, stalled it, all lights stayed on unless I left it in reverse !! Left it like this for the night but then discovered the doors wouldn't lock !! Has anyone got any ideas what might be the problem .... I don't know where to start !! Tried the car next day and all seemed o.k. Quote
BogMonster Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Check in and around the fusebox under the steering wheel for water ingress - usually from a leaking windscreen. Water gets into the fusebox (which is a lot more complicated than just a fusebox - got electronics in it) and makes it go bananas, switching stuff off and on and blowing up things like door locks. Be prepared for £hundreds to sort it out... Quote
Lara Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Yeah Yeah!! everyone reckons their disco is unstoppable! Sorry! Lara Quote
cipx2 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Yes, the fusebox is the main suspect, either water ingress or something's melted. Same thing you can read here - for those that don't have an account or don't want to open one, here's a zip with all 3 pics: http://www.mediafire.com/?qmmzj4yi2wt Quote
