350ypvs Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Why are Britpart allowed to claim that they make parts for Landrovers?I've just tried fitting one of their radiators to my 300tdi and have the same problem that i've read aboout on here "it's too bloody tall" I read the posts on here about the problems after i bought mine and hopped i'd been lucky. I waited to fit it as i was planning to do the timing belt, clean the intercooler, replace the rad & fit a Kenlowe fan at the same time. I have emailed Britpart & Paddocks to let them know it does not fit.Part number is BTP2275 which is listed as Discovery 300tdi. Now i'm pi**ed off because i can't use the car until i get another rad. cipx2 Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Why are Britpart allowed to claim that they make parts for Landrovers? They claim they make parts for LRs, but don't claim that the parts fit Quote
MartinK Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Hmm seems to be a persistant issue. I've used a couple of Briypart parts, and theyv'e been fine, but I have read of several problems from others such as yourself, 350ypvs (an old 2-stroke yamaha, succeeded the lc I believe)... Seem ok for "normal" service items, but some more detailed kit seems to be their downfall is my humble summary. Sorry about your problems...At least you can use the Yamaha for a few days!!!??? Quote
350ypvs Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 Does anyone know of a good reliable supplier of Bearmach radiators? I'm still waiting for Paddocks & Britpats response but don't want another Britpart rad. Quote
DiscoStu Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Mailorder 4x4 - I cant praise them highly enough. Excellent service and knowledgeable sales people. Stu. Quote
350ypvs Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 Got a Bearmach radiator ordered.Hopefully collect it on wednesday. Looking at the Britpart one the top and bottom mounting brackets are not rivited on straight they are both higher at opposite ends which is possibly why it sits too high. Quote
bobtail4x4 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Open a word document, type in Britpart then hit the spellcheck, I wonder if they do this stuff on purpose? Quote
350ypvs Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 Just come back from a test drive in my Discovery which now has a new timing belt, cleaned intercooler, new radiator (Bearmach),Kenlowe fan & blanked off EGR valve.Everything seems to be fine which is good as it's the first time i have done a timing belt kit (with the help of this link http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=22319&view=&hl=timing belt&fromsearch=1) When blanking the egr does anything else need disconecting as i've blanked it at the manifold & left everthing else as it was.
