cheese1 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Hello. I need some replacement door seals (the ones that fix to the frame / chassis and make a seal when the door is closed) on my Series 2a Any suggestions as to where to source these from...? Quote
rtbarton Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Assuming you mean those that go between the door and tub & bulkhead rather than chassis/frame; Rover 100 or Austin Metro from a scrapyard. You may have to grind the small lip off the bulkhead & tub so they just slide on, but you may get away with not having to. Quote
ejparrott Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Im sure Britpart and Bearmach both do replacement parts, they used to, i have one in the shed, and a friend has a 109SW set waiting to fit. Quote
Cartman Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Paddocks do the std Series door seal parts/material or I normally for 90/110 one piece seals and mod them slightly (£15 per side). http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/SERIES/Body_and_Panels/Door_Rubber_-_front_bottom_seal.html http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/7842/MRC5740-SEALING-RUBBER-R-H.html?limit=0&search=sealing&page=1 Or, http://www.paddockspares.com/pp/SERIES/Body_and_Panels/Door_Rubber_-_90_one-piece_seal_RH.html Paul Quote
Gremlin Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I ground the lip out and bought some bubble round seal by the meter, then cut to suit, just like 90/110. They seal better IMO, and no silly pop rivits ti keep them in place. G Quote
sotal Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Last time I enquired in my local land rover parts place they sold it by the meter either teh old style rivet stuff or the newer style stuff - it wasn't very expensive Quote
motom Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I have heard that ford sierra seals work too, but you might have to grind down the little lip on the door frame like rtbarton said. I did see a pic somewhere but cant find it -anders Quote
