Dorsetfreelander Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Anyone any ideas on this one? I have a Freelander TD4 04 reg auto SE with 50K on the clock. Recently I have noticed that sometimes when I unlock (with the key fob) and get in that there is a warning type noise that sounds like beep beep - beep beep -beep beep etc and a flashing red light on the dashboard, it continues after I get in and can be silenced either by pressing the fob again or by starting the engine. It doesn't always happen and doesn't seem to cause any problems (yet). Any suggestions anyone???? Quote
Llanigraham Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 When did you last change the battery in the fob? It is supposed to bleep and the light flash once, but when it does it lots it means the fob battery is low. It is mentioned in your handbook. Quote
mcdan Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 when my key fob died (battery) i don't have any signal from the dash,i can only open the driver door and nothing more, at that moment I was without the code to unlock the car....I was very lucky, my brother give me the battery from his Discokey! I had a quick look through the handbook but didn't spot that one. Quote
mcdan Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I passed through the same way, after change the battery no more sound, but before I didn't suppose that the sound advertise me about the battery was going to dead,... Remember to change the battery in the second key too!!! After a bad experience with that now i have a new battery inside the car right to be replace! Quote
general-confusion Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 was going to post a topic about this but you have answered my question as my seldom used freelander has been doing this for 3 years !!!! Quote
