Sabre Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I would like to reduce the spares & tools that I carry in Wolff packs when we go on overlanding trips. I am sure a lot of the equipment can be stored somewhere in/on a Disco. What do you store in the engine bay and chassis ? Any ideas/tips/pictures ? Yes, I did try the technical section, but best progress was to about page 3. Way too many interesting articles that distract me. If this was discussed previously, a link would be highly appreciated. streaky Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I've heard of people wrapping up shock absorbers with plastic cling film and rags to store them inside the front bumper. Some of the Ozzie guys will secure shocks and steering dampers onto the inside of the chassis rails. I've seen leaf springs secured to the front bumper and JW Ryiadh had a design for a toilet seat where the front grill used to be on his lightweight! I keep a spare serpentine belt and top & bottom hose in the small spare at the base of the wind sheild under the bonnet. Other than that I like to use the wolf boxes with identification labels as well. This way I can get to the bits as and when I need them. My back door has a good selection of 'quick access' recovery items secured to it. Quote

landroversforever Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 spare oil bottles in the space under the edge of the bonnet at the base of the windscreen. Quote
bobtail4x4 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 There is quite a bit of room under the front seats. Quote
Ohlins Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 A spare throttle cable inside and along the front bottom of the windscreen,at the dash...clean and free from corrosion and totally out of the way. With having a highlift...oil bottles stored where the bottle jack would've stayed or a container that size to fit other stuff in.....or store a 2nd battery there... Quote
Briandisco Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 It's also surprising what you can squeeze under the rear seat too. And you can hang quite a bit off a dog guard. Brian Quote
