JST Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 if this is out of place for this forum mods please delete. Several people have asked about these lately as i have run one on my 90 (8274) at De-Cider and drive rounds days etc, plus Nick and I have been running one for the last couple of rounds of HW on a TDS so: Goodwinch will have their first shipment of Bowmotor2s ready for sale from Wed 28th Oct, at £195 + carriage + VAT. In my experience it pulls a comparable no load speed to an XP on an 8274 at 12v (far better than a Bow1) and pulls better under heavy load than an XP (still 12v on an 8274) On the TDS (we ahve a 12000lb version with a large rope drum) it makes the winch comparible to an 8274 under load, no load its still way slower than a std 8274 but then a TDS would be anyway. You get a fair bit (more) of over run with it but its stood up well to a fair bit of abuse so far. It will be back on the TDS for the last round of HW at Tong. Quote
Holyzeus Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Its what alot of people have been waiting for, bow 2's back Quote
wee_arthur Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 So is this the new "xp" ?? If you want to upgrade your 8274 motor do you go with these ? or is there any disadvantage apart from having to haul all that spare cash in your pocket around? Quote
JST Posted October 24, 2009 Author Posted October 24, 2009 they have different windings to the original Bowmotor, so i am led to believe ref upgrades same as always i guess and depends what thr $ rate is to make XPs worth it and whether you are over volting i guess to name just a few variables. white90 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Look like a nice alternative to spendy XPs Quote
wee_arthur Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Oh well i think one of these will be on my list Quote
