Garthy Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Hi, I have a 2.25 petrol Series 3. The choke seems to work except the choke light is always on, regardless of what position the choke is in or how warm the engine is. Is there a sensor/earth/wire I need to be checking to try & resolve this? I really don't know where to start looking. Thanks. Quote
landmannnn Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Seem to remember the SIII had the standard BL switch thing that clips onto the cable, it has a pin that matches a hole. If they fall off the light stays on. Quote
Garthy Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 Thanks, Where abouts is this switch? Is it along the choke cable along within the dash? Quote
errol209 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Thanks, Where abouts is this switch? Is it along the choke cable along within the dash? Inside the engine compartment near the bulkhead, just towards the centre of the car from the clutch, "clipped" to the choke cable (which goes to the carb.). Its a block with two (I think) wires and a small bolt which clamps it onto a special bit of the cable cover. Quote

On mine the clips had died, leading to this problem, I used two small black cableties to reattach it, trimming off the excess leads to a tidy solution. G. Quote
