Rob110 Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Hi Im thinking of getting a set of 285/75/16 Fedima Siroccos on black Mods but i cant decide to go for 8j rims or 10j rims. has anybody got any pics of these rims, what would you say the pros and cons are? I use the 90 on the road for short distances, green laning and play days. I like the idea of a better steering lock with the 10j but im worried that they will look like balloon tyres and will stick out too far for tight lanes but i would like for the car to have that chunky look. Any ideas Cheers Rob Quote
Aragorn Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I dont see why the 10" rim would give you better steering lock? You'd either keep the offset fixed, and make the rim 2" wider, meaning an inch more backspace and so less clearance, or you'd keep the backspace as it was, and put all the extra width on the outside, which is likely going to make it handle pretty awfully, and will make the wheels stick out the arches. BogMonster Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 8x15 285s are about the same width as an 11.50 and having seen 11.50s fitted on 10in rims they look stupid and the sidewalls are somewhat in harms way! Quote
JST Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 isint that the Simex tread copy? quite an agressive tyre for greenlanes isint it? ideal for play days mind. Quote
