i like this one, dosen't look or sound corny

Ta, was trying to fink of a strap which didn't make us sound like a bunch of nerds sat at home in our pants on our puters,

I'm not a fan of screen printing - the logo gets tatty so quickly as mentioned. A decent quality shirt embroidered will last years and is good value for money IMO.

Now bigger and on blue.

Oh perhaps, mud, tech and, er, summut else to finish it off.....

That would be gears then, as in M"ud, Tech and Gears", which I quite like too. My general vote is for a strapline.

I once saw a group of festival roadies wearing company uniform with the co. name on (OK, but not thrilling) and underneath in small letters it said "Isolate wearer before removing this cover" (which made me laugh). Not that I'm suggesting that one at all, it's just that whilst we might all know what LR4x4.com is all about*, the general populace will file us under "gas-guzzling baby-killing 4x4 scum" unless we do just a little to lighten the mood.

* anyone starting a breakaway thread on this subject is to stay behind to do lines

I know that I am a boring old fart, but when I see a 4x4 logo and a "witty" strap line then I see "gas-guzzling baby-killing 4x4 scum". Well not that bad but someone who thinks everything is a joke and lets go and rip up a green lane!

Personally I prefer the simple oval logo above in a non LR colour as I don't think I am a LR nerd.

The ones above look good to me.

Marc.

+1 I have pet hatred of strap line things, IMHO they are unnecessary eg when you see a police car with 'serving your community' on, why don't they just replace all of them with 'doing my job'!

sorry rant over, I think (again IMHO) that the blue logo/forum logo is ideal, and doesn't make the wearer look like an anorak or part of a political party!

Agree - but aren't strap lines unnecessary only when we know what the organisation is/does?

I agree with the anti-slogan folks on the whole. I know i've posted it about four times but the

1_logo4.gif

is all i think it needs, although maybe surrounded by a similarly coloured oval line.

It's only my opinion, but the variations on "Tech. Talk. Tossrs." and "Independant minds, shared Corporate Vision Statement" and the like are just utter cobblers. Clearly we have too many social workers and marketing specialists...

Fine, i wear slogan t-shirts sometimes, but they aren't what we're aiming for here are they?

Simple logo as above and i'll have a hoody and a hat, maybe a rugby for me and the wife too depending on the finances. Stick a load of other 'clever' guff on it and i wont bother if i'm honest.

I reserve the right to modify my decision if something that interests/amuses me sufficiently comes along.

Right, can someone make a decision now?

This could go on till the end of time at this rate. We, as usual, are going round in circles with people wanting just a logo, and people wanting a witty strap line below etc.

I am probably not alone in this, but i'm quickly losing interest in the whole project, what with all the faffing.

Get on with it.

Or, before anyone pipes up with a "You do it then, if you think you can do better" type comment; I will happily make a decision, and if you dont like it, then you can lump it.
