Tractor Boy
Hi can anyone recommend a good company to do a turnkey 200tdi or 300tdi conversion into a Series 3 diesel? Dont think I have the skills or time to do this myself, but i dream of a bit more power, a lot less smoke and all that good stuff.
FridgeFreezer
Filling in your profile so we know where in the world you are may help. I'd recommend Chichester 4x4 but not much use if you're in Scotland.

series3100
Hi, This is my first too (Hello everyone!) 'ACH Land Rover Specialist' do series 200tdi as well as much more exotic transplants and people only seem to have good words for the work done - From the pictures I'v seen he makes a very very tidy installation. Snagger
Glencoyne Engineering in Thetford offers the Tdi and the 200DI (a de-turbo charged Tdi that make installation much easier and thus cheaper, retaining the orignal Series rad, plumbing and exhaust). Tractor Boy
Hi Thanks for the replies. Not sure about ditching the turbo.... need to think long and hard, just wonder if it would be like a 2.5 NA Diesel.
western
it'll still have more grunt/torque than a older n/a diesel. glyncoyne will be able to advise further.

FridgeFreezer
Don't ditch the turbo, it's the most pointless thing I've heard of. "Easier" and "cheaper" and even "kinder to the gearbox" are all rubbish, hundreds of people have put 200TDi's in to Series without major hassle and without blowing their gearbox up - that's a function of your right foot, not the engine fitted. rusty_wingnut
agreed with FF most pointless exercise IMO, everything you fit a Tdi for you lose. Driving my 90 without a turbo was horrific If you wanted a trip to the south coast I can reccomend a friend's company who will do a blinding job on it.
