Tator Posted January 31, 2010 Share Posted January 31, 2010 PLEASE HELP!!! HDC Warning Light -Freelander 1 1.8 petrol Y reg 3 Door. Hi, i have the freelander for about 6 months now, the HDC orange warning light has been coming on for the last 2 or 3 months now. HDC is never used (would like to now and then but never had chance) and i will be driving around London and it will come on. When it does come on the idle of the car starts messing about and not steady. I have checked throttle cable (not 100% on it) and it has play in it. There is no play in the control valve (up,down,left,right, in and out etc). have seen a few things online about all 3 lights coming on but mine is just the HDC orange warning light. Not sure if its related, but from me getting the car there is a bang sound when you go over a speed bump or start off fast. sounds like you ran over a brick of something. I have just checked the cable on the gearstick, all secure etc. someone else said to go down a hill to try it and that might wear it in. Tried that still the same. after i turn the car on it takes about 2 minutes for the orange light to come on. Help wpuld be great. Cheers in advance.
