istruggle2gate11
Hi, About to re-fit my ARB locker (after smashing the R&P on the old diff), it was origially a very rushed installation using components lying about the garage. The air switch I used was from sort of machine tool, which does the job fine.... The problem is that this mechanical switch is neither pretty or easy to use (I had to use a tie wrap to hold down the lever). So my question is whats the best type of actuator to use, do they come with switches?, whats the approx cost and where can I get them? Thanks Roger
02GF74
dunno but search web for air valve or similar; e.g. http://www.airlines-pneumatics.com/default.asp try local yhydraulic place is there is such as thing or maybe even machine mart. In effect you want a soleniod operated valve; make sure it is 12 V and not mains voltage!!!!
Michele
I have GCR ones. I love them, maybe just a bit small but who cares... Or go Fastenal US and try Fastenal Part # 0469739.
istruggle2gate11
Thats perfect Michele, I wonder if it dumps to atmosphere when off? Going to try and find one of those or any other ideas?
Michele
Sure it does! Engaging is silent, when you un-lock you hear a nice loud "HISS!" which makes me grin, sounds like a lorry B) All I need now is just a couple of red "gunner style" covers before playing Star Wars and a CO2 tank to go fully pneumatic,no cables,no compressor, just air... MogLite
This system has been in for a few years and is really sweet The Red Ibex way A second switch for the front locker is now mounted lower and therefore a bit harder to get at. They do vent to air, and came from Hypose.
Michele
Indeed you're amongst my idols I would have liked a massive lever but didn't have a clue of where to find it. Oh,BTW,do you have your tank re-charged with CO2 or just air?

Oh,BTW,do you have your tank re-charged with CO2 or just air? Oh Shucks Just compressed air I think I'll run a similar system on Moglite, using little air rams to move the manual lockers. Easier than big cables.
LR90
FWIW I'm running the same switch as MogLite from Hyphose but with a toggle (push/pull) rather than lever. Tucked in by the hand brake just reach down and pull to actuate. Nice and simple.
