LR NUT
Fitted genuine towbar to freelander fairly recently but had to remove the tow hook in order to fit the tow bar. What is the best point now to use to tow someone who has broken down or is stuck somewhere?? Ive heard that it is not recommended to tow a vehicle from the tow bar. Hope this makes kind of sense lol
western
the part you have removed was/is only meant for towing other vehicles on tarmac roads, use the stronger tow hitch for any other duty as well as trailers.
mudcrawler
I agree! The tow bar\tow hook is much stronger than the towing eye you removed. Tow bar should be rated to tow 2000kg or more!
