GBMUD
hi i,m new to the site would like to know if anybody knows of any green lanes in the poole or bournemouth area Your local County Council Rights of Way and highways dept will be able to help you identify legally drivable routes and where the TROs are. Alternatively you could join a local club and go on some of their green lane days. There are also private companies who will take you out for a fee or groups like GLASS or CRAG who get involved in green lane maintenance and also do green lane driving days. Many people are fairly reluctant to give out details of ROWs publicly or to someone they do not know - astonishing as it seems there are some people who choose not to treat the countryside and ROW with respect which gives us all a bad name. DrRob
I agree. Join a club is the best bet or spend hours researching yourself - I've done both to satisfy my mind that all lanes I drive are 100% legal
GBMUD
I should point out that neither GLASS nor CRAG will charge for green lane days, though joining the group seems only fair and reasonable! Chris
daveturnbull
hi i,m new to the site would like to know if anybody knows of any green lanes in the poole or bournemouth area There's naff all round the Bournemouth area. If you want a day out then you'll need to head up in the Salisbury direction, or maybe across to Alton. I might be planning a day out (starting at Bournemouth) in the next couple of months. Send me your details and I'll keep you in mind... Dave
