natas
I am looking for tyres for my 99 300tdi D90 truck cab. My truck is stock and I want to keep it that way. What is the largest tyre that I can fit on this vehicle on stock 16 x 7 Land Rover alloy wheels without any modifications of lift kit? AND, can you recomend a tyre that you like and why? Thanks. natas
255/85/16 bfg m/ts with a tiny bit of rubbing on full articulation hard wearing and good all round Can the rubbing be adjusted with the turn locks? Does this rubbing interfare with severe offroading? Thanks.
white90
Not at all M005 (Mark) on here ran them on his standard 90 the tyres touch the plastic arches on full articulation but not to damage anything
adam300Tdi90
I had 265/75 /16 Insa Special Tracks (not much difference to above I suppose) on mine without any mods (that I was aware of). Lock stops adjusted just so that the rear of the tyre didn't touch the radius arms.
natas
Does amyone have any pictures with a D90 with 255/85/16s? I was told the 235/85/16 is the largest that I can put on a stock D90. My problem is, I have to import the 5 tyres from the US so I need to be absolutely sure they will be the propper size. I want it to look good but more important it has to perform off road. Thanks. Pete Attryde
This is my 90 on 255/85x16 Cooper discoverer ST. It is running standard springs. My wheel arch flares are trimmed (badly by previous owner) so I get no rubbing at all. Pete.

My wheel arch flares are trimmed (badly by previous owner) so I get no rubbing at all. If the wheel arches were not trimmed would there be any damage to the vehicle or tyre when used off road? Or does it just rub very slightly? How difficult is it to trim the arches? Thanks.
white90
Very easy with a sharp box cutter/stanley knife there is no damage the tyres just rub the plastic.

M005
As Tony said I ran 255 85 16 BFG MT's on mine with no noticeable rubbing - certainly nothing to make me trim anything. They really look the business too Also ran them on a stock 110 HT with no issues.
