Discovery 200 Tdi conversion into a 90

Evening all,

A couple of questions for those of you that have done this conversion. What bottom hose did you use ? The coolant inlet on the engine is a good bit lower than the rad so the hose is close to kinking.

Secondly, regarding the oil cooler lines, do standard Defender items do the trick, are they long enough ?

IIRC It was the standard Disco one but it was modified

Can't remember but if you are using the rad off the Disco check the Defender ones fit the unions. If you want to use the Disco ones you will just need to take them to a hydraulic place and get them made longer.

Thanks Andy, I've done that before but the cost was as high as new oil pipes, so, if defender ones will fit, I'd rather have the reassurance of having fitted new parts that require no modification.

As I say, I think the unions on the ends are different for the Disco so the rad end may be a problem.

Thanks for that, I have a couple of sets of adapters here so I "should" be able to deal with that problem.

Rad end threads are different, but they just unscrew (30mm spanner/socket I think) Thread in the rad is the same, so unscrew the ones out of the Disco rad and fit them to the 90 one. Pipes are long enough.

Is your engine in the 200 or 300 position?

Mine is in the 300 position and the Disco 200 bottom hose works just fine.
