Varsas
Hi all. I have a 1976 Series 3 land rover. My passenger sliding winow falls out if it's left closed. This is because the seal at the top of the window is all flopsy, it doesn't hold the window in place, obviously I need a new one. Can you buy these seperatly? I can find the seals that run along the bottom of the window frame, but not the top ones. Or do I need a whole new door top? Also I don't have the key for the drivers door, what's the easiest way round that? To just go ahead and buy a new door handle/barrel/key assembly or have a key cut for it maybe? Thanks for the help. We get the seals in 10ft (3m) lengths. You can buy a length and cut it to the size you need. As far as I know the top and bottom seal is the same thing. I used the same for top and bottom and they worked fine. Sorry can't help with the key thing - depends what's available to you.
errol209
The "seals" are also called flock channel, generally the only hard bit is getting the old screws out ... If you have anti-burst door locks (that poke out through the door skin) you can fit new barrels, all keyed alike (for that modern car feel )
Varsas
Thanks for the response. I'll just get some 'bottow window' seal and cut it down if I need to. Thanks for the hint on how to fit it too, I presumed it was screwed in but wasn't 100%. My haynes manual hasn't arrived yet. As I suspected, I'll just get a new door handle set, i've seen them for £30 so not too expensive. Unfortunatly the "simple" shoe/drum replacement job on my Stag has turned into a "wheel cylinders as well" job so it'll be a week ro so until I can lavish any more attention on the Landie...
