Prop Shaft Gaiters

101

Recommended Posts

After breaking a flange on a prop shaft I had it rebuilt. It came back without the gaiter. It has some sort of gasket held on by a cover that screws on at the slip joint. (I hope this is clear.)

This is for a 101 that goes off road. Do I need the prop shaft gaiter?

Personally, i'd use them.

You didn't say which propshaft it was and it depends which way round you have your prop mounted. if you have the sleeved end mounted lower than the splined end than water and carp could run down the splines into the sleeved end, i can't remember which way round you mount your props and it may be different to my series III.

Ive got gaiters on both although they only seem to come attached as standard to one of the props.
