bobjacko
I have been trying to sesrch for info on a D2 rear wheel bearing / hub - is this only available as a complete hub ? Also, I did read somewhere, that the P38 hub will fit - is this correct ? Just easier to get hold of in a breakers ? Can anyone help with this ? kingdong2
Hi bob don't know where you are but paddocks and alike would supply wheel bearings for a d 2 rather than fit secon'd hand from a scrappy. graham __________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e s. 97 d1 300 tdi man. kingdong2
sorry bobtail your right just checked on the paddocks web site but even so i wouldn't fit hubs with old bearings in. graham _____________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e s. 97 d1 300 tdi man. Wolfie69
complete hub only comes as unit with abs sensor as well about £180 ish esay to fit though if you can undo the hub nut
andymach23
I bought a 2nd hand hub for my TD5 that was complete with half shaft, so I didn't have to release the stake nut. Just the 4 rear hub bolts. This made it a gift to fit. The breaker prefered to supply them like this. There is a thread on AULRO with details on using P38 hubs on the D2. It covers general parts interchangability for the D2. I had a quick look but couldn't find it. It's in one of the maintenance sections. Cheers, Andy
andymach23
Sorry, the thread I was thinking of on AULRO is inconclusive on the hubs. Worth a read anyway... http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/66474-disco1-disco2-defender-p38-interchangable-parts.html
