Can anyone advise where to get a set of military bonnet catches to replace the standard not very good cable operated one on my defender? the sand is not being kind to it despite regular lubrication!

i can see the individual parts for sale but would prefer to get a full kit.

or part numbers might be helpful if anyone knows?

thanks

They are the same as the ones on my Series One, Speak to Dunsfold..

I have just got some from ebay and they cost me £50 inclusive of post but they can make more.

If you do buy from ebay don’t forget to ask if the springs are still strong or even unbroken as I know someone that bought some with weak springs that were a waste of time :( .

All the best

for non-original parts try ebay.com and search for hood latch = .

Personally I wouldnt bother with them. Mine froze up during the winter and I couldnt get the bonnet open.

I had that happen on one of mine once, but just one minute of holding my hand against it unfroze it. I do periodically oil them, and that must help in winter.

I'm pretty sure they're not available as a kit.

The individual parts, as fitted to mid 80's - early 90's military 90/110, are -

Prices, from Rimmer Bros, inc. VAT -

MRC5314 - £36.75

RRC3815 - £9.55

300693 - £15.39

Suddenly, £70-£80 on eBay, looks like a bargain :o
