ajh
Can anyone offer advice on an 03 D2 as to what what would be the most likely cause for start then stall after wading (well, a bit more vigorous that just wading in this case) so that I can track down the culprit and seal it up properly. Wolfie69
Just had a similar problem with mine and I had to remove the ECU,take off front and back covers(undo 4 screws 1 in each corner and prise gently open with a screw driver)then I left it on my boiler for 2 days, refit and I was away again.Hope this helps
ajh
If the ECU is inside the vehicle, how does it manage to get wet inside?
ches
the ecu is in the engine bay between the battery and the jack.
ajh
Does the battery box have to come out first to get to it?
Wolfie69
the ECU is the silver box about 8 inches square by 2 inches thick with black and red electrical plugs located behind the battery box in the same compartment as the jack.
BogMonster
Does the battery box have to come out first to get to it? No. Take out the jack, and I think there is just 1 self tapping screw to remove and you can slide it up and out. Take the battery off first. ajh
Hmm, would liquid water drops hitting the MAF have a similar outcome?
ajh
Well, battery is out, battery box is out, coolant header tank is off, and unless it is built into the fusebox this D2 has no ECU in that location.
ajh
So, yes, apparently this is the case. It was a small amount of water that got into the ball on the air intake.
