kingdong2
Hi guys never seen a roof rack for a d 2 before just pics, anyway instead of fitting a 4 bike rack on the rear door / spare wheel carrier and putting extra stress on the door hinges would a half ( short ) roof rack carry 2-4 bikes lying down on top of each other without the wheels of the bikes touching the roof or do i need a full length roof rack, don't really want a bike rack on the roof with the bikes stood upside down. graham ____________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e.s. 97 d1 300 tdi man. M&S
I wouldn't do it how you have suggested. 4 bikes piled on top of each other is going to damage the bikes. You won't be able to secure them very well either. And with the wheels on it's going to be very awkward! Don't forget a rear door ladder as well, it's a big help getting to the roof. Personally, because of the height of the Disco, I'd look at a towbar mounted cycle rack and carry all four on that. http://www.towequipe.co.uk/products/zx88-witter-towbar-mount-bike-rck-cycle-carrier-tow-bar-zx88.html#
