ThreeSheds
Could somebody enlighten me as to what it is that looks like a gun on the front of the Churchill armoured recovery vehicle, please?
Soren Frimodt
yes indeed this must be rare, a different door and 5 bolt wheels? Haven't seen this on a 101 before: http://www.airmuseums.fotopic.net/c1833123.html
jbs
That Soren is one of the remaining prototypes of the the 101 before it went into service with the British military

Soren Frimodt
Okay.. Interesting. Nice landies I especially like series 1 on tracks, must be a beast in the mud!
mmgemini
Interesting that 00ZR12 has rubber tracks fitted. The first Cent I've seen fitted with them. When I was at 31 Command I was often sent into the ARV to remove the "turret" as I was the only one on A&B bay that could get in over the winch air cleaners. I notice the rear boxes are missing on the Scammel 06BD00. I remember doing the carbs and rear hub on one of those. Huge spanner and 14lb hammer to tighten the hub nuts up. Brop u/ j's had to be greased every 40 miles IIRC.
