plasticbadger
I was up at Witham SV yesterday and spotted this odd beast: Sorry about the picture quality, but I couldn't get right close to it. It appears to have armoured cab with a soft top, 6 wheels with at least the rear axle left sprung, and the Blindo wheels obviously. The condition appeared to be new. Who knows what it is then? landroversforever
Is that one of the revamped Perenti ones?
western
Is that one of the revamped Perenti ones? believe so, fitted with the latest engine/gearbox.
plasticbadger
That's definately the same vehicle, but with a different rear body fitted. The one in my pic clearly had a leaf sprung rear axle, does that sound right?
plasticbadger
Just found this by Googling Perentie - Front suspension is by live axle and coil-springs. The rear bogie employs two leaf springs and a load-sharing rocker on each side. This rocker is cranked, and the leaf springs on each side overlap, so that the springs can be longer and the rear axles can be closer together than would otherwise be possible. western
Yes, rear leaf springs as per the original Perentie 6x6.
G4FUJ
Mmmmm! Always fancied a Perentie. Guess if we had emigrated I'd probably have one in the shed! Cheers,
101sean
Could be plenty on the market in a while, they are going to be replaced by G-wagons. Shipping could be a bit costly though! One of the SAS 6x6s would be nice if I won the lottery.
plasticbadger
You could probably get it shipped for £1000 ish, it would make a nice daily driver....
