Niamh
What does one do, just pull and plug the vacuum pipe from the valve? It won't upset the EDC at all? Niamh
Richard Mills
Hi There. I just made a tin gaskit the same as the one from the EGR to the pipe, but with no hole in it. The EGR can do what it pleases, but it gives no trouble now.
Niamh
So you left the EGR valve in place then? Niamh
Bobbin
Thats just what i did on both my disco's (300 tdi).Unbolt the steel flexi pipe that goes to the top inlet pipe & make a blank from a piece of steel sheet or similar.Refit & bolt up.EGR may still operate but no nasty gasses getting through.I must say in both my trucks i had to remove inlet manifold & clean out as both were crudded up ,one so bad there was only a 25mm hole visiable once hose removed.Well worth it with noticeable difference afterwards

Niamh
The more I read the more confused I get! Out there on the net there's talk about having to adjust the EDC pump timing when removing EGR. Is there any clear information anywhere at all? Niamh
karlo
This is what you need for a 300TDI EGR Removal Kit No need to do any thing else except blank off the vacuum hose or disconnect the plug on later cars.
