tweetyduck
does the rear stub axle on a 110 detach from the axle itself. It looks like its part of the whole rear axle. TA
Les Henson
Yes it does come off - undo the 7 x bolts that hold it to the axle tube and if necessary - give it a clout with a mallet or similar. Les.
Mo Murphy
Sometimes something a little more substantial than a clout is required Mo

western
Where is the 7th bolt? there's only 6 on a 90/110 rear stub axle, IIRC 7 on a Series LR.

tweetyduck
Thanks all for the encouragement. If i might ask, why would i want to remove it anyhow? I'm meant to be replacing the brake disk and pads a wheel bearings and seal. What would i need to remove the stub for? Theres nothing amis this is just maintenance. So before I put it all back together can you give me a good reason to get out the BIG hammer...
Les Henson
Unless you have a leak behind it or the stub needs replacing, then there's no need to remove it. Les.
