I think you can tell from the serial number according to this (unless someone has altered it - then i think it is a case of counting teeth on the input gears.....)

Should be able to work out tooth numbers for each ratio from this:

Bear in mind LR have number in 2 different places dependant on year . model

1 - on the back face of the box, Left Hand side bottom edge, looking from the back end at the Handbrake

2- and a pig to see, "Round the corner" of the above, so at the back and bottom edge of the passenger side of the casing

<cough> and yes I know this for a reason :lol::(
