Torque Wrench for tensioning timing belt

Hello, I am about to change the timing belt on my 2.5 N/A.

The workshop manual recommends using a dial type torque wrench, which I neither have or can afford to get.

What I have is this:

The workshop manual says: Set a dial type torque wrench to 20.0 to 23.5 Nm (21 to 17 Ibs ft)

My wrench is graded 0-140 lbs foot.

Question: can I use it, will it be close enough?

Cheers, Tomas

I used one of that type for a timing belt change. So far it has lasted approx 20.000 km with no signs of trouble ;-)

It's a damn inaccurate piece of "#¤%& though, but apparently good enough for the tolerances on a Land Rover engine.

be careful of the really cheap ebay versions of those torque wrenches, there not even close at the lower end of the scale. It will do, but keep your eye out for a nice dial wrench, I picked up a 2nd hand snap on one for 40quid on ebay.
