cackshifter Posted May 3, 2010 Share Posted May 3, 2010 Hi, I've noticed on my 300tdi cyl head there are 2 'lumps' cast into inlet ports 2 & 4. The photo is of ports 1 & 2 so you can see the difference. The lump is on the right port at about 2 o'clock. Does anyone know if they are solid/necessary. If required for controlling airflow you'd expect them to be on all 4. Incidentally if anyone doubts the damage an EGR valve can do to the airflow characteristics of their head these had about 3mm oily goo on each inlet port, and the inlet manifold was full of it.
