Dip beam not working

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Was just driving along, when suddenly dip beam has packed up, high beam and everything else works, just dip beam, checked fuses(thought it was unlikely both had gone) and swapped relays around, cant find anything, got the stalk surrounds off, and still nowt that I can see, anybody got any clues?

Its a 2001 TD5 defender 110

Thanks in advance!

Grant

Behind the dash clocks(speedo fuel gauge etc.) on my 200 tdi 90 there is a relay I think it's the dim/dip relay It's attached to the bulkhead on the right if you was to look through the hole where the clocks would be, My one vibrated loose and caused the symptoms you described a quick push back into it's holder cured it

Have a real close look at the switch....if you have a bad connection on the back of one of your lights it can cause a problems at your switch and melt the plastic that holds the contacts for the switch.....you can repair them with a blob of soldering but they dont last long....order a new switch.

Bingo!

Exactly that!

Might have a new one at home, so gonna swap it all out.

Cheers :)
