hobson
i'm getting ready for some new wiperblades, has anyone used the Silblade ones on Mudstuff? are they worth the cash?
heath robinson
I've not seen the mudstuff one, but a similar thing has trundled by the workshop, atop a new polo and something jap and very boy'd up. I don't know how they'd fare with mud and grit, but the guys who had them said that they were pretty revolutionary for road use. hth Jake
Jurriaan
My father uses them on his Ninety, as he was ordering on Mudstuff and needed some new ones. They seem to work pretty good, not noticed that much difference to a normal wiper yet though.
hobson
Hmmm, i was hoping to hear more of a "wow they're fantastic! well worth eighteen quid apiece!" so seeing as thats lacking thus far i think i'll go with normal ones! thanks though
Retroanaconda
Considering the rate I go through wiper blades....£18 a go would make for a very expensive setup!
Guest
I don't know about the MUD ones but I use the Aeroblade type wiper blade: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Land-Rover-Defender-90-110-AERO-Flat-Wiper-Blades-x-2-/330387928583?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ceca7b607 They keep the pressure on the whole of the blade and and do work well, just about to get a new pair as old ones starting to ware, they are a vast improvement on the standard LR ones. SteveG
Considering the rate I go through wiper blades....£18 a go would make for a very expensive setup! I've had a set of them on for over 4 years now and still good. Haven't had much mud use in last year, but did prior to that. Steve
heath robinson
That's kind of the point, isn't it, that you won't go through them at the same rate?
Snagger
I have a set on my RRC and they're truly excellent - they don't leave streaks, they leave a film like rain-x and are silent. They also didn't go solid and leave patches in the recent cold conditions. They're worth the money.
landroversforever
I bought a set as I needed some other things from MUD. Still yet to fit them . When I ordered they were lost somewhere between here and the USA, Mud kept me posted . Great service
Diablo
Anyone got any more long term views on these, now that they've been out a while? I tend to buy the aero ones these days, but might be tempted to test a set of silblades out
landroversforever
I love mine, but I have no idea how they compare to the aero ones though.
V8 Freak
I've had a set on my truck for about 9 months now and still performing well. Didn't get them fom Mud, just found a seller on Eblag and from memory, around £10 each. Worthwhile investment. Neil

Diablo
None any cheaper on ebay at the mo. I do really like the aero ones: cheap and work really well, but ultimately they're still just rubber which barely lasts a year or two before perishing. In the states SilBlades have a 5 year warranty, so might see if they do from Mud. Update: just called and they do come with the 5 year warranty (though the girl had to ask someone and neither seemed 100% certain to start with). Guess I might treat myself then. Probably still more expensive if it only lasts five years, but if they're any better than others, as they claim to be, then probably worth a punt.
