Jinx Reyneke
Any Ideas, TDI 300 pulls fine until it gets to 3000rvs then a strange whistle/whine sound starts and at the same moment almost no power like it is starving. This is a recent thing as was fine until about a month ago.

Bush65
Whistle sound indicates a leak. Possibly manifold gasket (remember there is high pressure in the exhaust manifold pressure as well as inlet manifold when the turbo is making high boost pressure), head gasket (they often leak from rear of number 4, so feel around there while running), or hoses to/from intercooler. A faulty fuel lift pump can lead to fuel starvation at higher loads.
Jinx Reyneke
Thanks I will certainly investigate. Fule lift pump sounds more like it to me as I changed a leaking one for one I had lying around. Thanks
Jinx Reyneke
I have replaced the lift pump but for some reason I think that I have the in and out let pipes mixed up. the top pipe where does that come from or go to? at the moment I have it connected to the fuel filter
