Hybrid_From_Hell
Doing some hunting about for plasma consumables, found that you can get either FLAT or CONICAL "Ends", ie one is flat and a hole in the middle and one is sort of V shaped with same hole Could a grown up please xpalin differeences and when each would be used in preference to the other ? Astro_Al
Could it be something to do with line of sight? The pointy tips are for when you need to see what you're cutting, the other tips (which might have better cooling / longevity?) could be used for CNC or in a cutting guide etc. Thats my best guess, but I'm probably way off. Anyway, for manual use get the ones that let you see where you are cutting. Al.
integerspin
That sounds reasonable, I set a fence 17mm to the side of the cut got to have a fence can't anything with the big flat tip.
Paul Wightman
Nige, as far as I know the plasma is formed at the electrode, the air swirls it round to exit from the hole in the tip to cut the material. So long as you have a round hole the rest of the tip is imaterial.
